Last Call

The Last year..

So much has happened this last year it is hard to wrap our minds around it. Katt and I have both made geographical changes in the last year affording us the opportunity to work in the same office, and to now at long last, concentrate solely on Archange and the Dazzle Sim. Happily as a result, we have been fortunate enough to experience a boom in creativity and inspiration previously diminished with Ginny’s passing.   Mourning is a process that is as individual as it is precarious and with the one year anniversary now come and gone, both Katt and myself are emotionally and physically in positions worthy of achieving the standards of design and quality Ginny idealized at Last Call. We want to thank everyone who stuck by us and the Archange group, and wish to let you know that from this point into perpetuity we shall strive for multiple weekly releases, and of course, lots and lots of group freebies.  Be sure to check the staircase landing!

In the spirit of progressive reform and metamorphosis, The Dazzle Sim like its designers, has headed in a new and wonderful direction thanks to artistic contributions of some of SL most acclaimed and talented creators.  I gives me great pleasure to announce that my dear friends Tracey Sassoon, Esmee Isbell, Rita Groshomme. Gala Pheonix and Camillia Yosuke and, and as always, Caliah Lyon have joined Archange on the Dazzle Sim. I sincerely hope you will find time for visiting the Sim to peruse, admire, and of course patronize some of the finest content creation SL has to offer.

 We stuggled to let the Last Call blog go, however currently we feel it stands in memorium of our lost friend’s incredible achievements  and find ourselves both unable and unwilling to let it fade to obscurity.  So until the day we can in good conscious and with light hearts  let go of the Last Call Blog site, it shall continue to be used for current and future Archange announcements.   As our last remaining piece of Ginny Talamasca, we deemed it fitting that being the angel for which Archange was named, she our beloved Ms. Talamasca, should in this way continue her vigil and guidance of our paths in SL.

 As of today, there are 5 new releases at Archange and one exclusive Freebie for the Update Group!

Simply put on your group tag and you may purchase any currently available exclusive Group Item.  I say ‘currently available’ because our group releases will only be obtainable for the week of their respective release thus allowing Archange to offer a new and different Group Item on what we hope will be a weekly basis.

Archange Opens Today

                                       

Today is the big day.  Archange will be officially opening its doors at 9 pm SLT.

And to commemorate the opening, we have decided to hold an Archange Update Group Contest.

As part of our launch celebrations, when the Archange group hits 1000 people, 10 lucky group members chosen at random will receive 1 free outfit of their choice from the New Archange Line. So if you're not part of the Archange group yet enroll today for your chance to win.

Enrollment in the group can be achieved by clicking the search bar at the bottom of your SL screen and running a search on the ‘Group’ tab for Archange.  Simply click to enroll and you will automatically be entered in the free outfit give-away.

A Bit of Confusion…

There have been some questions as to the current in-world location of the Dazzle SIM from people interested in acquiring a landmark in preparation for the opening of Archange.

I am happy to report that the Dazzle Sim has NOT actually moved in regards to the in-world mapping system utilized by SL landmarks and teleporting.  That is to say….all of the Landmarks and coordinates people are carrying in their inventory to reach the Dazzle SIM and/or ‘Last Call’ are still functional, and may be used to return to Dazzle after Monday April 14. 

Also, because Archange will be opening in the same store space as Last Call, all established Last Call landmarks will transport you to the new Archange store as soon as the SIM has reopened.

A New Beginning

So……

Time for the final word on the future of Last Call and the Dazzle SIM.    As I originally stated, Last Call will be closing its doors on the evening of March 31.  At such time all inventory created by myself, Katterina Dagostino, and my late partner Ginny Talamasca will be removed from the Dazzle SIM/Last Call store and will no longer be available for purchase from its creators.

  It is at this point I would like a moment to again thank all of the wonderful fans and customers of Last Call who made designing in SL such an incredible experience for Ginny and myself.  Never at any moment in our lives prior to SL did either of us believe that those idle sketches made in margins of college notebooks would be so appreciated.  Thank you all for the privilege of allowing my best friend and I to create so freely for so long.

In truth, over the last four and a half months I have vacillated between folding up shop and walking away from SL, and the alternative of remaining in-game and pressing on with design.  Ginny was my reason for entering SL, pure and simple, but it was the designing and creation that kept me here.  I enjoy the creative process and the challenges presented by this medium’s venue of expression.    SL combines painting, drawing, sculpture, and animation simultaneously, into an adventure I cannot readily walk. To leave would be a waste of a remarkable opportunity and a squandering of the efforts, time, and love Ginny invested in our work.

Yes, I plan to remain in SL and produce as Katterina Dagostino, but I wish to do so in my previous capacity.  I work to my fullest potential under the benefits of a partnership, and in the spirit of what brought me to SL I have entered into a new SL partnership with a dear friend of mine Danner Dosei.  I have sold her controlling interest in the Dazzle SIM, and I shall remain on board to create with her for the new store ‘Archange’ which she is bringing to the Dazzle SIM and Last Call shell.

Last Call will close on March 31, and following that date during the first or second week in April,  Danner Dosei and myself will reopen on the Dazzle SIM under the ‘Archange’ label with a new collection of women’s fashions.    Beginning that first week in April week following the closing of Last Call, Danner Dosei and I are inviting any and all members of the LC Group to join the new update group under the Archange heading.   We ask that anyone wishing to join the transfer over from the Last Call update group to please do so before April 14.   The LC update group will continue to be used in conjunction with the new Archange update group only through the First week of Archange’s opening to allow time for anyone unable to make switchover before the opening of the new store to do so if they wish.  Not to worry though, if you miss the April 14th date, just look for the Dazzle SIM.   Signs reminding people of the new group will be posted outside of and within the Archange store located on the same Dazzle SIM as Last Call.

In the same essence of new beginnings, this blog will also no longer be used as soon as a new Archange Blog posting can be established.  When this occurs, announcement to that effect will be made and a link for redirection to the new blog will be posted on the current “lastcallbydhc.com“ blog site.

This has been a very long, difficult, and confusing year for both myself and all the loyal fans of Last Call, and I do not believe that it has to be a fruitless one.  I am very excited about this new path and the chance to work alongside another incredible friend of mine, Danner Dosei.   Archange will not be Last Call because for me and I believe for many, Last Call was Ginny Talamasca.   Danner’s sense of style and design, and my personal taste in fashion will be a new avenue of exploration, but that is not to say we are totally without Ginny’s remarkable influence. 

I do not believe it is possible to be life-long friends with a person and not adopt a piece of that person within one’s self, and it is that belief which spawned the name ‘Archange’.  En français, Ginny’s beloved language of choice, Archange translates simply to Archangel, a universal guardian and protective force.  I know that no matter what I do in life I will be influenced by my time with Ginny, so Danner and I thought it fitting that a store on the Dazzle SIM run by two of her friends should bare that influence also.

As I said, I look forward to the future.  I look forward to this new adventure with Danner Dosei.   And most of all, I look forward to propagating and advancing the skills Ginny shared with me.

New (Colors of) Shoes!

So you've probably seen these boots before right? It's Liah & Melisande! I've had a lot of requests over the last few months for more colors, so I decided to release these while I work my butt off to get some new things together for the grand opening of my new store Jaywalk on the 31st. By other things, I mean sculpties; learning Maya as quickly as I can! More information will be forthcoming about the launch of the new store, but you can always come check out the new build and my products up to date!

One other quick note - all my products can now be found on OnRez, and will soon be available on SLExchange as well.
